We’ve drafted these guidelines to ensure that everyone using Picturk has a fun and enjoyable time and a positive experience. We advise that you read and abide by the following community guidelines.

What to do

In two words - be nice. Treat others as you would like others to treat you.

Do compete

Competing in photography competitions is a sure fire way to improve your photographic skills, test your ability, and get feedback from your peers. Go on, give it a go!

Do play nice.

Picturk is a community of many types of people, who all have the right to feel comfortable and who may not think what you think, believe what you believe or see what you see. So, be polite and respectful in your interactions with others on Picturk.

Do upload photographs that you've taken.

Respect the copyright of others. This means don't steal photos that other people have created and pass them off as your own.

Do let people know what you think.

Feedback's part of the experience, and when done with respect, can be a great way to make friends, share stories and make your time on Picturk more fulfilling. So leave comments, and Like photographs. Contributors will appreciate your feedback.

Do share what you know.

Chances are, someone could benefit from your knowledge, opinions, or personal experiences. Sharing what you know is one of many ways you can make a positive contribution to the community.

Do enjoy Picturk

See the world through others’ eyes, participate, find your muse, and expand your horizons!

What not to do

People who cross the line – and do any of these don’ts - will have their accounts terminated.

Don’t upload anything that isn't yours.

Picturk is forum for showcasing your work – the photos you create not other peoples. Don’t upload photo’s that you haven’t created!

Don’t upload content that is illegal or prohibited.

If we find you doing that, your account will be deleted and we'll take appropriate action, which may include reporting you to the authorities.

Don’t vent your frustrations, rant, or bore the brains out of other members.

Picturk is not a venue for you to harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we’ll send you one warning and then delete your account.

Don’t be creepy.

You know the guy. Don't be that guy.

Don’t use your account to host web graphics, like logos and banners.

If we find you using your account to host graphic elements of web page designs, logos, icons, and other non-photographic elements on other web sites, we’ll send you one warning and then delete your account.

Don’t use picturk to sell.

If we find you engaging in commercial activity, we’ll send you one warning and then delete your account.

Don’t use Picturk to link-build or spam

We hate this behaviour! You know who you are. You’re not welcome here.

You will see all sorts of things on Picturk, some of which may offend you. If you are offended by a photo you can either click away or you can tell us about it by clicking on the "Report Abuse" link at the bottom of the page. Note: Please report from the specific page that the offensive content appears—this gives us information we need to take action.

Copyright Infringement

If you see photos or videos that you’ve created on Picturk, don't panic. This is probably just a misunderstanding and not malicious. Please click on the “Notice of Infringement” link at the bottom of the page and we will take it from there. Note: Please report from the specific page that the photo appears—this gives us information we need to take action.
